Athol's Journey Athol Bloomer, an Observant Jew who entered the Catholic Church, has served as a lay missionary for the Missionary Society of our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament. A native of Australia, where he is currently living, Athol has served in Thailand and Israel. If you are a member of our email discussion group, you may recall his letters to the group as he sought to establish Perpetual Adoration in Israel. You may also know Athol as the author of The Eucharist and the Jewish Mystical Tradition which is being serialized in our publication, The Hebrew Catholic. As a lay missionary, Athol entrusted himself completely to the will of our Lord. As such, he was not able to accumulate any financial reserves and was not able to consider coming to the U.S. for either the Washington DC this past December or the upcoming NY conference in March. We have told Athol that we would try to finance his trip here for the NY conference and additional AHC meetings. He already has an invitation to speak to the new havurah at St. Joseph's Church in Florida when he comes to the U.S. And, while here, Athol would visit us in Michigan for some in-depth discussions about the future of the AHC. I have quickly looked on the internet to get a sense of the costs of round trip tickets between Australia and the U.S. There will also be additional costs while in the U.S. I am anticipating the total costs of this venture to be somewhere in the range of $1,500 to $3,000. I should have a better estimate of the costs in a few weeks. We would appreciate any and all help in the financing of this trip. And we request your prayers that Athol will be able to come and for the success of the NY conference. Thank you.
